Yet another Social Network

www.vorolo.com

We’re going to be cruel to be kind – another social network. Yes this one has been built by one person and its nice and neat but in all honestly I’ve forgotten more passwords than I can remember for similar sites.

Vorolo has all the usual features for social networking tools you’ve come to know and love. You’ve got user profiles with messaging space and favorite videos. It looks OK and actually may do well as it is quite simple (You don’t get bombarded by widgets) but social networking is really busy and without a kickstart this may not do very well.

We’re giving it just one star at the moment – sorry – but you never know we may come back in the future when it is fully online.

Travel guides and Tips

www.tripwolf.co.uk

TripWolf is a recently launched online travel guide that gives you, the international traveller the opportunity to take a look at where you want to go.

Site users have access to information on over 200,000 travel destinations all over the world. Users of www.tripwolf.co.uk can search for destinations, find tips from friends and pro gurus, and even create and print out their own travel itineraries. A nice neat feature is that users can also browse galleries of pictures posted by other users who have visited the locations and get a really good idea of what to do and see when they get there. For the next budding travel writer you also have the ability to write a journal online so friends, family or fellow travels can read all about your experiences.

Although www.tripwold.co.uk is not fully operational yet it gives you a good idea of what is going on and we are sure in the fure it will become as popular as WAYN.

We’re giving this two stars at the moment but we will definetly check back in the future to see how it goes.

Jazz up your photos

www.blingeasy.com

OK to start with this site is not really very useful but we had to say it was quite fun to play around with. Simply upload your photo and add all sorts of things to it from words to animations.

BlingEasy makes it easy to put all manner of .gif animations and glitter graphics and backgrounds and texts and whatever else clever you can think of on a photo of your choosing. Simply upload a photo and get blinging.

With BlingEasy you can resize pictures, drag and drop images on to your photo, draw on them and just get creative. You don’t even have to download anything to use. It’s completely web-based and free. Plus, you can upload them to MySpace, Facebook, and all the other social networking sites that are out there.

We’re giving the site three stars – not because its good just taht we had fun changing the way everyone in the office looked.

London job search

www.fusejobs.co.uk

OK, the credit crunch is starting to bite so you need to find the right job for you. Fusejobs.co.uk is another jobs API that takes some of the pain out of searching all those different web sites

We actually quite liked the site – it looks good and is fairly easy to use. There is one problem though. None of us are based in London so it’s no use to us but if you are one of the six million in our nations capital give this site a look.

So far, there are over 20,000 jobs available in services ranging from truck driving to bar keeping. There’s even a skills match feature for helping you find a job that matches your skills and abilities.

We’re going to give the site three stars – anything that helps improve the pay packet has got to be a good idea.

Make your own start page

www.mysurfpad.com

MySurfPad.com, a new start page tool, takes users’ individual online wants and needs, and conglomerates them all into one customized dashboard. Aimed at the US market at the moment it’s a good idea that may catch on over here in blighty.

Users tweak their respective Surf Pads to reflect the information they want quick access to, whether it is weather, music, email, news, YouTube videos, or any other number of fine-tuned details. Minute accessories, such as a calculator, to significant details, such as upcoming travel information, is all accessible in one centralized forum with MySurfPad.

You could say that this is just like the old fashioned FiloFax but its online.

The site does have great potential. The automatic links, such as those to Facebook and Wikipedia, connect users to where they want to go. An abundance of choices provide users with numerous customizable options.

At the moment we are just giving this one star – it’s one to try but maybe with a few adjustments it could be useful for us all in the UK.
