The pampered pooch gets everything

www.doggydate.com

After putting out a request to all the PR agencies for web sites to review this site really stood out – we could not stop laughing. If you spend any time on the net you come across dating sites for all sorts of things but this just takes the biscuit !!

Dating for dogs !!!

OK not really, it a place for dog owners to share information – you could call it a facebook for dogs really. The site has really found a niche with all those dog owners the world over as it gives them an opportunity to share ideas, things to do and even more worryingly actual get togethers (for the dogs that is!!)

Not being dog people ourselves we did wonder what this is all about but after 5 mins on the site we got the concept and thought it could catch on. We’re not going to spend much time reviewing the site just to say – if you are a dog owner give it a go, you will be surprised how fun the site is.

Top marks to the PR agency as well – I’ve even put the press release on the next page – it was actually funny as we didn’t need to “bone up” on the site too much at the start !!!!

We’re giving the site four stars – It is actually different from other social networking sites. It pinches a few ideas from others out there – “woofs” instead of “winks” – but we liked it.

Have a read of the press release on the next page – www.doggydate.com really could catch on and they have an event coming up in September “Paws in the Park“.

We do think they are barking mad though !!!!

THE ULTIMATE TREAT FOR YOUR PAMPERED POOCH!

<!–[if !supportEmptyParas]–> <!–[endif]–>

We’ve had designer dog coats, kinky canine boots and diamond-encrusted collars….but the ultimate accessory for pampered pooches has just gone live on the world wide web. <!–[endif]–>

Forget singles dating sites for we mere mortals – man’s best friend now has his own online canine dating site!

<!–[if !supportEmptyParas]–><!–[endif]–>

www.doggydate.com has been designed to lead (sic) like-minded dog-owners together around the world – for fun, frolics and friendship. There’s also the option to share your favourite doggie recipes and tips and hints on handling your hound, training him how to behave and generally doing everything, well, doggy-fashion!

From now on, if the site is to be believed, every dog has their date……. <!–[endif]–>

Founder David Winston, an American (well, he had to be really!) based in the UK, says the site is designed to make the world a better place for dogs everywhere! <!–[endif]–>

“Dogs aren’t known as man’s best friend for no reason,” he rationalises. “There’s something about animal lovers that unites them; this site is merely taking things to a new level. I’ve noticed that one of the few places English people talk to strangers is in the vet’s waiting room. Talking about our animals, or through our animals, seems to be more comfortable for people.

www.doggydate.com has facilities for dog-to-dog chat or owner-to-owner. Instead of sending a ‘wink,’ you can send a ‘woof’ to another dog – or its human owner.

<!–[if !supportEmptyParas]–><!–[endif]–>

“Whether your dog needs a breeding partner, pen-pal or just another dog to chase a ball with, doggydate.com can help make that happen,” says David, with a not-quite hang-dog expression. <!–[endif]–>

www.doggydate.com’s online community has tips on everything from favourite parks around the world where you can take your pooch for his daily constitutional to forums where owners can share their canine experiences and concerns.

<!–[if !supportEmptyParas]–><!–[endif]–>

www.doggydate.com is offering free membership to the first 100 hungry hounds who hurry to sign up. Thereafter, a nominal fee will allow puppy-lovers to share their shaggy dog stories for just as long as they like….. <!–[endif]–>

Whether David has hit on a winner(lot) – or is plain barking mad, only time will tell.
