Catchup on TV with Seesaw.com

TV on the web is nothing new but it is starting to grow up a little with a much larger choice now available. One of the fairly new entrants to the market is www.seesaw.com – it takes feeds from The BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5 and allows you to watch a range of broadcast programmes that you may of missed on TV.

Admittedly you could just go to the relevant channel website to watch TV on Demand but Seesaw does offer you the ability to rent (at a small price) full series that may no longer be available on them so its quite a useful site. Seesaw is very easy to use – just pick what you want to watch either by channel or genre and click on the link. The broadcast quality is what you would expect from an on demand service – a little grainy but this is only to be expected. We are sure that as TV streaming continues to grow the quality will greatly improve with the technology.

Seesaw is paid for by advertising within the programmes which you cant skip over but that’s not to great a hardship. The other alternative is that you can buy the series you want to watch. We have not tried the paid for content yet but it looks quite comprehensive and beats trying to download from a file sharing site or getting an old video out of the box.

All in all Seesaw is a very good idea, it provides a single point (and web address) to watch all your TV favourites. The downside is that the selection of free stuff is fairly limited as it is aiming to make money from you buying the paid for content and unfortunately you cant watch it overseas yet.

Note: I’ve just done a search for one of my all time favourite series – Day of the Triffids from the 80′s and it’s free … now headphones on and hope someone in the office does not realise what I am doing ….

WhatsGoodOnTheWeb.co.uk will be reviewing other on demand and TV streaming services in the future so look out for more soon.
