Recycle Books and make money

We’ve all seen the adverts for companies that let you get cash for your old CDs or mobile phones but if you are anything like all of us at WhatsGoodOnTheWeb the one thing that does clutter up the house is old books.

Generally if I go on holiday I will at least pick up one or two at the airport and with all the special offers usually available this often doubles, so what do you do when you’ve finished with a book? Unless it is a very special one it’s unlikely that you will read it again as you know the ending so here is a great site that lets you turn your old books into cash – www.greenmetropolis.com .

Greenmetropolis.com is a buying and selling web site that allows you to list books you’ve got to sell and helps find buyers. The site is really simple to use and all you need to do is enter the ISBN number of the book you want to sell along with its condition. You receive a set amount per book that is sold and all you have to do is post them off to the buyer, simple.

I must confess to having come across the site a number of years ago as I was looking for a book that I had read before called “Once a Pilgrim” and wanted to read it again. After asking about it in Waterstones I found that it was now out of print. By searching on Greenmetropolis I found a seller who had listed the book that was in good condition so I decided to buy it. The service was excellent and I got the book I wanted.

Having just rediscovered the site I am now going to start listing all my old books to sell (there are quite a few) and I may even pick up a few paperbacks for my holidays this year.

Greenmetropolis.com is a very user friendly site that is easy to use for both buying and selling secondhand books. In addition by using the service you are helping reduce the number of old books thrown away which is good for the environment. We’ve added Greenmetropolis to our Top Rated Website Reviews for this month.
