I’ve recently completed a project to add an extension and one of the most stressful things about the whole project was trying to find the right person for the job. Several friends and family had recommendations for tradesmen to use but either they were not available or when they gave a quote I wasn’t really sure if they were to expensive, under priced or just right.

Doing a number of searches on the web I came across www.yesjob.co.uk  – it’s not the only one on the web but like all of them it’s free to use so I posted some of the jobs I needed doing on the site. Basically the concept is simple, you post your project online and the relevant tradesmen contact you through the site, ask a few questions and then provide a quote. The site makes it’s money by charging the tradespeople a fee for leads.

The responses I had varied, some very good and others quite basic. I’ve got to say that the concept is a very good one and when I am looking for other things to be done around the house in the future I will definitely give it a go again. 

All in all a very well laid out site that is easy to use although I’m not sure how many trades people would use it and there is nothing like a personal recommendation.
