Losemynumber has been set up to provide safe and secure communications for anyone who wants to give out a phone number but may need to cut off contact if things don’t work out.

About The Website
The concept behind Losemynumber is a very simple and effective way to hide your mobile or landline number behind a non geographic number.

This means that you can give out a telephone number to someone you meet (either in a bar or through a dating site) and should the person turn out to be not what you expected then you can always switch off the number breaking contact with them. Using the site is really easy – you simply register your landline or mobile number and they will give you a non geographic telephone number that you can give out. If at any stage you want to get rid of the number simply click on the Losemynumber button.

What We Think
With millions of people using online dating sites these days it’s very important to be safe. Giving out a non geographic number means that you can always keep a person at arms length until you really know them. Like many people I’ve been wondering how useful Twitter is as there is only so much you can say in a Tweet and also it’s not exactly business friendly. Yes, here at What’s Good On The Web we use our Twitter feed to update our friends on the latest reviews and good websites but that’s about as far as it goes. If you’ve developed your Twitter account into being one of the main points of contact for your business then you need to look at the best way of managing it in the future and thats where CoTweet comes along.

About The Site
Cotweet is a brand new site that helps companies use Twitter more efficiently. The basic concept is that it allows multiple people to communicate through corporate Twitter accounts and stay in sync with each other. This means that your customers only need to follow one Twitter account instead of multiples (development, support, management etc) – your business therefore stays on message and it helps avoid duplication of effort and resources.

What We Think
We’ve not had much chance to use the Cotweet service just yet but we think it is a cracking idea – we’d suggest that any business which is looking at using Twitter as a key communications medium signs up to this service as we’d definitely recommend it. Its a really good idea and the site is very easy to use. It’s only in Beta at the moment but we think it is going to catch on soon. We’ve added it to our top rated sites and we think you should to.

Wahanda WebsiteIf like us you are always looking for a bargain online there are a few sites that bring together the power of group buying meaning that everyone gets a good deal if a certain number of people order the offer. One that recently struck us was Wahanda, aimed specifically at offering exclusive health and beauty deals, the site has been put together by some of the people behind lastminute.com so we thought it was well worth putting together a review as it is a quite good website.

About The Site
The main Wahanda site is predominantly aimed at offering health and beauty deals, as you would expect these are predominantly aimed at a female audience, but the bit of the site that we think makes the difference is their daily mobdeals. Basically you can look at the deal relating to the town or city you live in and if you like the offer order it. The company making the offer will set a minimum number (usually quite low) to activate the offer and if the level is reached you get the deal. Don’t worry though if the offer level is not reached you don’t have to still use the service.

What We Think
We think Wahanda may be a bit of a slow burning hit. There are already a number of group buying websites that have recently launched but very few of them aim at a specific market or sector which we really like. We’ve added Wahanda and their mobdeals to our top rated list as we think our users may quite like the site.

Find Shopping Deals Online

We all know that walking down the high street you can always find a shop with a sale on or offers in the window but where do you go online?

Over the past few years there has been a growth in shopping discount code websites pointing Internet users towards the “best deals” online with either free delivery or discounts so we thought we’d put together a quick website review of one them, ShoppingVouchers.

About The Site
At first glance you can quickly see what ShoppingVouchers is all about, discount offers and sales that are available online at major retailers. By digging a little deeper into the site we quickly found that they are different from other discount code websites. The site is packed with other information such as two for one deals, money saving guides. They have also added quite a bit of extra functionality that you don’t get from their competitors; this includes the ability to connect with your Facebook profile so that you can share deals with friends and family; the addition of automated alerts that send you the deals you may be interested in based on your browsing habits; and finally a more topical blog with seasonal discounts and offers.

What We Think
ShoppingVouchers is a well laid out site with plenty on it, if you are a big online shopper there are some good discounts to be had and the ability to share deals is very useful. We’ve added the site to our top rated list for August as we think What’s Good On The Web readers will find it very useful.

Meet The Real MeFinding a job is very difficult at the moment with thousands of people competing for a limited number of places. Here at What’s Good On The Web we’ve come across a great website which we think ticks all the right boxes for both job applicants and employers so that’s why we thought we’d put together a website review of MeetTheRealMe, a video based recruitment website.

About The Site
If you are just looking for job adverts MeetTheRealMe lists jobs available like many other sites but if you want to stand out from the crowd you can make so much more of your application.

In a nutshell the site basically allows you to video yourself (using a webcam or similar), post your profile online and allow employers to view your video. Don’t be worried though – they give lots of advice on what to do and say so it is really simple to set up the profile. These videos can then be viewed by potential employers, they can see your CV at the same time and then contact you to arrange a full interview.

For employers MeetTheRealMe really helps differentiate between candidates – they aren’t looking for the next funny guy just someone who best fits the business and wants to go that extra mile to secure a position. By recording their own Virtual interview employers can also ask the questions for candidates to answer before they ever meet them.

 What We Think
At What’s Good On The Web we think that MeetTheRealMe is a great idea that is bound to catch on. It helps candidates stand out from the crowd, saves significant time and resources for employers as they are not just setting up interviews based on a piece of paper and finally moves the recruitment industry into the 21st Century.

We think that MeetTheRealMe will catch on quickly as it is a real differentiator and they are bound to have loads of look alike sites very soon!!

It is fully secure and has all the right security certificates for online shopping and as an added guarantee if you have a problem with your order (non delivery etc) they will refund the money rather than you having to chase the retailer.

Frooly make their money by charging the retailer a small fee per sale which does not affect the price the consumer pays.

What We Think
We think that the Frooly concept is a really good one and although offering a marketplace for sellers is not unique it does enable smaller businesses to get online and both the zero cost and user guarantees will make the real difference.

Frooly provides confidence to users who know that they are shopping online securely and at the same time will help stimulate interest in smaller retailers not just the big brands. The site has been well developed and although there is not much on it (Well about 58,000 listings !!!) at the moment we think it will rival many of the larger marketplace sites very soon as it is so easy to get going as a business and users can find something something a bit more unique.
