Rent out your parking spaceFor many people who work in towns and cities finding a parking space close to where they work is becoming a bit of a problem but if you have a spare parking space you can not only help out commuters but at the same time earn your self a little extra money. A website called parkatmyhouse.co.uk aims to bring together parking space owners and people wanting somewhere to park so we’ve put together a quick review of the website for our readers.

About The Website
There are two sides to Parkatmyhouse.co.uk as you would expect. The first is for those people who have a parking space to rent. All you do is simply sign up and register your space. It could be that you have somewhere available to park during the day whilst you are at work, long term as you don’t have a car of your own, or just a spare space available on match days. The sign up process is pretty simple and all you do is complete your details and the space gets listed on the website. You even set the price.

For those people who are looking for a parking space all you do is enter the postcode or address in the search engine and the website will give you a list of potential parking spaces. It’s that easy. You then use the website to contact the owner and negotiate the deal.

Parkatmyhouse.co.uk charges a commission of 15% for setting up the deal but the users set (or negotiate) the prices between themselves and there are loads of useful FAQs on the website that answer most questions.

What We Thought
Parkatmyhouse.co.uk is ideal for anyone who is looking at renting out a parking space either long term or just for a few hours and gives some very good parking alternatives to people looking for a space. The website is mainly aimed at larger towns and cities where parking is at a premium as you would expect and we found it very easy to use.

If you are looking for a parking space or just ant to make a bit of extra money we’d suggest you take a look at Parkatmyhouse.co.uk

Help Get Someone Online

Did you know that nearly 9 million people have never used the Internet in the UK? It could be a parent, a grandparent or just someone who does not like technology so as part of the government initiative Race Online 2012 a new website has launched to help dispel some of the myths of the Internet and help people make their first steps online. Called obviously Get-someone-online.com we thought we’d give the website a quick mention.

About The Website
Get-someone-online.com is appealing to the public to encourage non-internet users to give the internet a go. The campaign is in support of the Race Online 2012 initiative, led by the UK’s digital champion Martha Lane Fox.

The idea is to give people the gift of the web this Christmas, whether it’s pledging to help a family member set up an email account, registering someone they care about for a free internet training course, donating their old PC or actually gifting someone a low cost web ready PC for Christmas.

Research from Microsoft to support the campaign has found that there are an estimated 30 million PCs and Laptops lying around homes in the UK which could potentially be given a new home. And to make it as easy as possible for internet users to do their bit, Age UK will be making their 475+ charity shops across the UK available as donation centers for old computers for the duration of the campaign.

What We Think
We are all great fans of the Internet here at What’s Good On The Web, that’s why we review good websites so any initiative that helps people access technology we think is great so please show your support and visit Get-someone-online.com

Claim Back For Late Tube Journeys

Claim back for late tube journeysDid you know that if your Tube is late by just 15 minutes you are entitled to a full refund for the journey? No, well we didn’t either and there are loads of times we’ve been stuck in a rather cramped tube between stations so we thought we’d give a quick mention to a website that aims to get tube users money back. Called Mytubewaslate.com we think it’s a great idea and have even added it to our Top Rated Websites for this month.

About The Website
The first thing you need to know about Mytubewaslate.com is that it is totally free to use and will actually save you a small fortune. If you are a regular Tube user you will be aware that from time to time (cough) tubes are late and can mean that you miss a meeting or even get into trouble at work so the website has brought in a very easy to use process to claim back the cost of your journey if you use an Oyster card or season ticket so here is how it works.

Simply register for free on the Website and then next time you are on the Tube check how long your journey should take (if it is on time)you will then know for the future if the journey is running late and if you can make a claim. All you then do is every time the Tube is late simply go to Mytubewaslate.com and sign in and their system will print you out the claim form to make a claim, or even better it will submit the form online for you. As an added bonus the site also emails you every time your journey is delayed so even if you forget to check on the day they give you a reminder.

What We Think
We think Mytubewaslate.com is a brilliant idea, not only does it help passengers claim back money for poor service but it will encourage Transport For London to get it’s act into gear. There is absolutely no effort on the users part, simply register and log on and then post off the claim form or submit it online (To a freepost address as well !!!).

If you are fed up with late tubes check out Mytubewaslate.com and claim back a small fortune.
