Watch Business Expert Interviews Online

As you all know What’s Good On The Web is a pretty new venture so we are regularly looking for independent advice on both setting up and running the business. It would be fairly easy just to visit a local accountant but it is also useful to get a sounding from business professionals across all different markets and experiences.

When we came across www.meettheboss.tv we initially thought it was one of those sites that offered a few snippets of information and then charged a small fortune to see any additional content but we were pleasantly surprised to find that they offered free registration that enables viewers to access hours and hours of recorded interviews from industry leaders and business people from both the UK and Overseas.

Having spent a good bit of time on meettheboss.tv we’d say that it offers a very good insight into the world of business from all aspects including marketing, sales, training and human resources so we’d strongly recommend any business person to take a look at the site and see what business advice you can use in your business.

Got a business idea …. pitch it

Every year thousands of new businesses are launched in the UK. Some have the drive to succeed and do so very well others start and fail very quickly. For those budding business people who want extra support for their business it may be worth entering “The Pitch” from The Business Factory.

The Pitch is a business competition like no other, supported by the government and many well know larger businesses it aims to support and help grow business ideas through mentoring and support.

WhatsGoodOnTheWeb came across the site when we were looking for some advice on getting some investment to help us develop our concept. The information on the site from reading other peoples stories and experiences through to links for a wide range of business resources is invaluable.

Although entries for the 2010 Pitch are now closed we would suggest that anyone who is looking for a boost to their new business idea reads this site – you never know you may end up Pitching in 2011.

Keep up with your business contacts

www.linkedin.com

Everyone talks about social networking these days so it’s not surprising that there is a social network for business people. There are a few sites out there for this sort of thing but I have to say that the real winner has to be Linkedin.

With Linkedin the idea is really simple, upload your address book into the system (It’s a great backup tool as well) and it will automatically find people using Linkedin who you have an email for. Other functions include the ability to search for people – either by name or the company they work for and joining groups of business people who have the same interests (e.g web, technology, investments, regions etc)

The premium service costs money and allows you to see everyones details before requesting that they join your network but the basic free service is really good anyway – I don’t see the need for it at this time.

Overall we have to rate the site four stars – it’s easy to use, it’s useful and what’s more it’s free.
