Discounts and couponsUnlike the UK people in the USA are very used to using coupons and offers to get significant discounts for both on and offline shopping so when we heard that the leading American online coupons provider, offers.com was launching over here we thought we better do a review of their site for our readers – the web address is www.uk.offers.com

About The Website
For those people who already use discount sites the layout and functionality of the uk.offers.com site will be very familiar although they have a number of search and find options which we think makes them slightly different.

As a user you can select offers and discounts based on either the sort of offer you want (e.g. Travel) or alternatively select on the type of offer (e.g. free delivery or discount) This makes the site very easy to navigate around and find the best offer or coupon to use. The other thing that is slightly different about the site is that all the offers are available to a casual site visitor, they don’t require you to register first which we like, and they do have a weekly email so you can find out the latest deals directly to your in box.

What We Think
Overall we generally liked the uk.offers.com website as it was easy to use and doesn’t bombard users with pop up adverts, you go online and find the offer you want pretty quickly. Our best advice is that if you are looking to shop online in the future take a look at the site and see what they have – you may find that by using one of their smaller offer partners you make some significant money savings. As this is US owned and operated site we expect to see it becoming very popular as they bring discount shopping to the masses.

Many of these companies don’t have a way to fill the additional space with goods going the same way. With Shiply, a courier matching service, people who want goods moved can find a delivery company who is heading in the same direction. The arrangement fills the additional space, helps cut the number of couriers on the road and helps reduce carbon emissions, so that’s why we thought we do a quick review of their website.

About The Website
The Shiply website is well laid out and has an easy navigation system so that you can get down to business straight away. As a user you enter the details of what you want delivered along with it’s dimensions and they will send it to haulage or distribution companies that may want to offer to move the goods for you and how much it will cost. One neat thing about the site when we tested it was as we had told them we wanted to move a box they suggested that standard courier companies may be cheaper and then gave us quotes for the service.

Four distribution companies they can join the site and bid on jobs for free and only pay a fee if they secure the work. This therefore mans that they don’t have to worry that bidding for jobs and not winning them could cost money.

What We Think
Shiply provides an invaluable service matching people who may not normally consider using a standard distribution company with vehicles that are empty but going that way. Not only does it help increase profits for the companies but also cuts down on lorries on the roads which is a real bonus. Our final comment on Shiply is that they can link into your ebay sales so no more local auctions only for larger items!!!

What We Think
Parents have a busy enough time as it is so this website helps take a little bit of the stress away. The subscription is a little costly if you are on a budget but it is less than £1 a week so if the service is needed a pretty good solution.

The concept beghind Findafashionshop is very clear – it aims to list fashion shops around the UK and it’s free for them to list on the site so there is no barrier to entry. As a website visitor you simply use the search box to select an area and then either the type of thing you are looking for or if you know the shop, it’s name. The details of shops matching your requirements are then listed and includes a small description about the shop, what they sell, their location and contact details.

What We Think
Here at What’s Good On The Web we are a strong supporter of anything that aims to get more people back to the high street so we think Findafashioshop is a good idea. They provide a pretty good resource and directory for shoppers which beats the standard web directory hands down.

For some people watches are like a piece of jewellery so when we were told about watchshop we thought some of our readers may be interested so we’ve put together a quick review as it is quite a good website.

About The Site
WatchShop is the online sales site for Watch Shop based in Reading. The site sells literally every make and model of watch you could ever think of from DKNY through to Versace. When we took a look around we found the site to be very easy to use and we have to admit to getting a little lost in the expensive ones (roll on that lottery win !!) but this site is not just a show case for expensive brands. It has a budget device so you can shop in the price range you want and doesn’t list all those watches that are totally out of our reach due to price.

What We Think.
We think that Watch Shop is a pretty good site. It’s easy to use and is fully secure as well as being pretty good value.
